Dinner In The Fridge — Support
Last updated 20 August 2026
Dinner In The Fridge turns a photo of your food into recipe ideas. Photograph what's in your fridge,
and the app identifies the ingredients and suggests things you could make with them.

Common questions
- How many free scans do I get?
- One before you create an account, and a second once you've signed up. After that you can buy
more.
- What do I get when I buy?
- 20 Scans adds 20 scans to your account. It's a one-off purchase, not a
subscription — nothing renews and you're never charged again unless you buy another pack.
- I bought scans but they haven't appeared.
- Scans are added to your account once Apple confirms the purchase, which is usually immediate.
If they haven't arrived after a minute or two, close and reopen the app. If they're still
missing, email us with the date of the purchase and we'll sort it out.
- Do my scans work on another device?
- Yes. Your remaining scans belong to your account, not your phone, so signing in elsewhere keeps
the same balance.
- What happens to my photos?
- They're used to identify ingredients and then discarded. We don't store them. See the
privacy policy for the detail.
- Why do some recipes have photos and links, and others don't?
- Recipes come from two places: a recipe database, which supplies real recipes with photos and a
link to the full method, and an AI-written suggestion based on what's in your photo. AI ideas
are labelled as such.
- The ingredients it found are wrong.
- A clear, well-lit photo of the open fridge works best. You can also add photos of your larder,
freezer or spice rack, and type any preferences — vegetarian, quick, no dairy — before scanning.
- How do I delete my account?
- Open the app, sign in, and tap Delete account on the home screen. This
permanently deletes your account and any remaining scans, and cannot be undone. You can also
email us and we'll do it for you.
Recipes are suggestions
Recipes and ingredient lists are generated automatically and may be incomplete or wrong. Always check
ingredients yourself, especially for allergies and dietary requirements, and use your own judgement
about whether food is safe to eat.
